Erika Lyman

"Flash" - Erika's Lead Pony

Flash enjoys teaching very young horses to navigate the race track and accept a rider daily. he does not mind other horses bouncing off of him and tolerates everything with training thoroughbreds. Flash teaches all new horses the walking machine by walking with them their entire session. Flash can show any horse, especially young and nervous horses, how to become calm and interact quietly with training. Flash teaches horses to become independant and gain confidence while training.

"Eddie" - Charlie's Lead Pony

"Rugged Eddie" is Charlie's laid back and quiet pony who enjoys teaching young horses to navigate the race track and un-nerve even the most high-strung of horses. Eddie has many years of experience ponying horses and is a great babysitter for any horse. Eddie offers comfort to any horse who may be "all over the place" teaching them to interact quietly.

"Sugar" - Nina's Lead Pony

Sugar has been with Nina for over 10 years and has a long history of teaching, competing and proving to be a well, all around horse. Rescued from a slaughter auction at the age of two, Sugar was malnourished and in poor condition. She was brought back to health throughout her three-year old year, broken easily and trained in all aspects and diciplines.

Sugar proved to become a successful show hunter horse and a phenominal jumper, earning many prizes and competing weekly without fail. Sugar eventually started to learn cross country, as well as western and expanded her learning horizons, proving she could become a great "all around horse". Sugar's last win was the 2010 Radnor Hunt trials, a first in competition for herself, as well as taking a young two year old to victory in the pairs division.

Sugar is now retired at the age of 11, serving as the farm's lead/escort pony, as well as an important veteran swim "instructor" for new horse's who are beginning swim sessions with us, she offers comfort and ease to new horses who are learning to swim. Sugar is often seen "free grazing" on the farm and visiting horses about the farm where she is allowed.
